Makate High Flyers settle for Tapiwa Chirenda

Premier Netball League outfit Makate High Flyers have appointed former Zimbabwe senior men’s netball team head coach Tapiwa Chirenda as their new head coach for the 2026 season.

Makate are targeting a better position than their sixth-place finish in their debut season in the Premier Netball League last season.

The club is hoping Chirenda’s experience at national level will help strengthen the squad and push them higher up the table in the upcoming campaign.

First up for the side is a trip to Mutare for their first bubble as they battle with Buffaloes, Beitbridge Border Queens, P Stars, Aspindale, and Correctional Stars as the 2026 PNL season gets underway this weekend.
