Makomo gala lives up to billing

The eighth edition of the Makomo Musical Gala held in Hwange on Friday evening lived up to its billing as all the musicians who performed put up brilliant performances.

First on the Colliery Stadium stage was bubbling gospel musician Mathias Mhere who kept fans on their toes as they sang along to his popular hits Favour and Vimba na Jehova.

Sandra Ndebele was a hit as she gyrated on stage showcasing her energetic dancing and vocal prowess.

Sulumani Chimbetu also put up a blinder as he blended his set with his late father’s popular songs such as Comma. He showed maturity in the music industry. Peter Moyo also illuminated the scene with another vintage performance as he also belted out popular hits from his iconic late father Tongai.

Not to be outdone was Zimdancehall sensation Winky D who also enthralled revellers with a lively act.

The icing on the cake was Alick Macheso who took to the stage at about 3AM and gave a very polished act.

Show promoter Eusabia Rayire was satisfied with the turnout at the show and promised a bigger and better event to celebrate Makomo Resources’ existence as a mining entity in Hwange.
