A MISUNDERSTANDING turned into murder after a man stabbed his friend and ran away at a night club in Gweru.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said Tafafadzwa Nigel Masvimbo the accused and the deceased worked together as artisanal miners in Shurugwi. On 4 September 2023 Masvimbo and the now deceased were at Shumba Nite Club, Mkoba 6 Business Centre, Gweru when a misunderstanding arose between them.
“They went outside to resolve the dispute whereupon Masvimbo drew a knife and stabbed the now deceased to death. Masvimbo fled the scene and proceeded to sleep at home. The deceased’s body was discovered by a passer-by who reported the matter to the Police. Investigations were carried out leading to the arrest of Masvimbo. He was convicted and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment, “said NPAZ
