ZIMBABWEAN sprint king Ngoni Makusha roared to his season-best time of 10.37 seconds at the FNB Golden Grand Prix in Gaborone — holding his own in a star-studded field that featured some of Africa’s fastest men!
Makusha crossed the line 6th in Heat One, a sizzling race won by South Africa’s Abduraghmaan Karriem in 10.07s. Despite missing out on the top spots, the seasoned Zimbabwean showed he’s still got serious gas in the tank as the track season heats up.
In a separate heat, Akani Simbine of South Africa blew the competition away with a jaw-dropping 9.92s, currently the fastest 100m time in the world this year!
Makusha’s performance sends a strong signal — the veteran is building form and remains a threat on the track as Zimbabwe’s top sprint ambassador.
