Defending champions and current Betway Premiership log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns have fired head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

He was restored as head coach of the club in July after previously serving as a co-coach.

He’s replaced by former Esperance de Tunis coach Miguel Cardoso.

The Portuguese national was in charge when Esperance beat Sundowns in the CAF Champions League semifinal last season.

Assistant coach Romain Folz and Mngqthi will leave the club, while Steve Komphela and Kennedy Mweene have been retained from the previous technical team.
