The Police have released the names of the seven victims involved in an accident that occurred at the 330-kilometre peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Road on 8 December at around 3:30 AM.
In this tragic incident, seven people died on the spot, while 22 others were injured when an Inter Africa bus, carrying 43 passengers, rammed into the back of a stationary Freightliner truck with no passengers on board. Among the injured, six individuals were treated and discharged, while 16 others are currently admitted to Gweru Provincial Hospital.
In a statement, National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the Police have positively identified five of the seven deceased victims through their next of kin, as follows:

Mutanga Brian, a male adult from Bocha, Marange
Manyise Madubeko (45), a male adult from 4th Street, Bulawayo
Ncube Sinqobile (43), a female adult from Xanti Village, Esigodini
Muchemwa Matieng (62), a male adult from Lasper Road, Harrisvale, Bulawayo
Mafukidze Edmen Collin (39), a male adult from Overspill, Epworth
The identities of the other two victims have yet to be confirmed by their next of kin.
