Added to the fun will be appearances by Star FM disc jockeys who will entertain revellers.
Born Miriam Mukape, Mampi collaborated with Zimbabwean urban groover Rockford Josphats aka Roki on the song “Go Crazy”.
The former Big Brother Africa housemate boasts several hit songs such as “Chikondi Fever”, “Swilili”, “Shift”, “Why, I’m Portable” and “Waliloweleka”, to mention just a few.
At the age of 21, Mampi was selected as Zambian Ngoma Awards most promising female artiste. She is also well travelled, having performed in London, Manchester, Lilongwe, Blantyre and Johannesburg.
In addition to her vocal and songwriting skills she is a renowned dancer which has earned her the nickname “The Vibrating Waist” or “Thunder Thighs”.
With Roki part of the line-up, the two are expected to perform their duet. Since their short stint in the reality show Big Brother Africa, the two decided to work together and so far it has been good. While Mampi would be the biggest drawcard, there is a host of other crowd pullers including Jah Prayzah and Sulu who are doing well on the airwaves.
Sulu has built a huge following with the release of his chart-topping albums “Non-Stop” and “Syllabus”. His collaboration with Oliver Mtukudzi on the hit “Kwedu” earned him the respect of fans and musicians at large.
On the latest album “Syllabus”, Sulu featured Jah Prayzah on “Sean Timba” often referred to as “Batai Munhu”.
With “Sean Timba” climbing the charts, Sulu has become one of the most sought-after musicians since the end of last year. He is simply pushing his envelope higher. Apparently, Jah Prayzah single-handedly changed the rules of the game. He is a musician whose music cannot be put into one genre like others.
Ever since he burst on the mainstream music scene, Jah Prayzah has won the hearts of many fans and promoters. His biggest hits “Sungano”, “Maria” and “Gochi Gochi” have set him as a great composer and performer.
His latest album “Tsviriyo” has catapulted him to dizzy heights.
Another group to watch for is Final Warning fronted by the youthful Prosper Dembedza. The group is known for belting out patriotic songs among them “Independence”, which is receiving rave reviews on national television.
