A 54-YEAR-OLD man from Esigodini in Matabeleland South Province was arrested for allegedly fondling his 14-year-old niece’s breasts after the girl had approached him for help.
This was heard when the perpetrator, whose name is being withheld to protect the victim, appeared before Esigodini magistrate Prince Jeconia Ncube charged with indecent assault.
He was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody.
Circumstances are that on 27 November 2024 around 2pm the perpetrator was approached by the victim who asked him to help her ask for forgiveness from her aunt for her misdemeanour of being in love with someone.
After the victim had narrated her story to the perpetrator, she asked for a comb to prepare her hair and he directed her to get the comb in his bedroom.
The perpetrator is said to have followed the victim into the bedroom and allegedly fondled her breasts.
The victim fled and went to report the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the perpetrator.
