A Harare woman was yesterday granted a protection order against her boyfriend, who she accused of assaulting and harassing her each time they have a misunderstanding.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the order to Trish Jengwa, who accused her boyfriend, Innocent Nyoni, of violent conduct.

Trish told the court that Innocent insults and beats her up every time she asks him about anything.

“When I told him I am going to apply for a protection order, he threatened to kill me in the same way he shot a pangolin and now I fear for my life.

“Last week we came to this court and the application was dismissed for lack of merit, but he is continuing with his behaviour, so I decided to re-apply. I am asking the court to protect me,” she said.

Nyoni was not in court to defend himself and Magistrate Chibindi granted the order in default.
