Man, accused of negligence in death of workmate, appears in court

A HARARE man has been arrested on allegations of causing the death of a workmate.

Brian Rashirai (46) appeared before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda charged with culpable homicide. 

He will be back in court on October 28 for trial.

It is the State’s case that on April 22, at Zimbabwe Fertilizer Company, Msasa, Rashirai was at work with the deceased, Godfrey Chipoyera.

Rashirai is said to have switched on electrical power, on a Rotary Screen Machine in the granulation plant, where Chipoyera was working.

The machine rotated, crushing Chipoyera to death.

The court heard that his death was caused by negligence.

A police report was lodged leading to Rashirai’s arrest.
