Man arrested for failing to deliver money

A 25-YEAR-OLD man was fined US$50 or 15 days in prison for keeping US$25 that he had been sent to deliver to someone.

Tendai Mutede did not answer his phone when the complainant tried to reach him, prompting the sender to make a police report.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) in a statement on X, said;

“Tendai Mutede (25) was arraigned before the Nyanga Magistrates’ Court on charges of theft of trust property.

“On the 24th of July 2024 at around 1000 hours the complainant met the accused person at Bronzeberry bus terminus and gave him US$25 to handover to Tudour Zinyakasa.

“The accused person did not handover the money and his mobile phone was unreachable. A Police report was made leading to the accused person’s arrest.”- The Chronicle
