Man arrested for over US$580 000 property fraud

POLICE in Harare have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with a case of fraud involving a property worth US$580 000.

According to a statement posted on the police’s official social media pages, officers arrested Elijah Meskano (43) at R.G. Mugabe International Airport on 23 September 2025.

Meskano allegedly orchestrated a fraudulent transfer of ownership for a property located in Gletwin, Harare.

The offence came to light when the rightful owner received Harare City Council bills bearing the names of the suspect and his wife.

Police said investigations into the matter are underway.
