Mhlalisi Ngwenya has been arrested following an incident in which he allegedly stoned a woman after she rejected his romantic advances.
The altercation occurred in May when Ngwenya proposed to Future Ndebele, who declined his offer. Despite the rejection, Ngwenya reportedly continued to pursue her.
On October 7, 2023, Ngwenya approached Ndebele again with his proposal. When she refused once more, he reacted violently, throwing stones at her leg.
In addition to the assault charge, Ngwenya is also facing theft charges for allegedly stealing a speaker from a local bar.
Ngwenya appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware and was granted bail set at $30. His trial is scheduled for November 28, 2023.
