Man attempts to poison girlfriend, three kids

A HARARE woman yesterday accused her boyfriend of attempting to poison her and her children.

She applied for a protection order against him.

Alice Mujokondo told the Harare Civil Court of the horror she suffered at the hands of her boyfriend, Abraham Chiondo.

Alice was in tears as she narrated the pain she endured and how she fears that Abraham will continue to hurt her and the kids.

“He comes home at midnight and starts being violent, breaking my property and waking up the kids.

“He physically and verbally abuses me in front of the kids and recently, when I filed for a protection order, he came home with poison wanting to kill us all and I had to jump through the window to inform the neighbours.

“I sought help from my neighbours who went to rescue my minor kids, and he ran away,” she said.

Magistrate Dharon Mashavira granted the protection order in default as Abraham did not attend court.
