IMAGINE being born with paralysed legs but blessed with many talents.
This is the story of a 24-year-old man.
Mike ‘Micho Bancho’ Saujeni from Chitungwiza is physically challenged and his condition is known as Spina Bifida.
All his legs are paralysed and he uses a wheelchair for all his movements.
Despite his physical condition, Micho has 230 unrecorded songs.
“I was born with this condition and all my legs haashande zvachose.
“We are four in my family and all my siblings are married.
“I have a wife and one kid who is one year and six months old.
“I stay with my mother and wife after the death of my father in 2010.
“My mother is a vendor and we struggle sometimes as the burden is too heavy,” he said.
Micho went to Jairos Jiri School in Southerton.
“I was at Jairos Jiri Southerton from Grade 1 to 7.
“I then discovered that I had talent when I was given opportunities to perform different functions.
“I also use my wheelchair when playing basketball and I also play Silalomu.
“During my Form 1 to 4 I started singing but my mother is not able to help me record music.
“It’s a challenge since the money we have can’t even sustain us.
“My young brother is also physically challenged with cerebral palsy.
“So the life is hard for us,” said Micho.
He added:
“My biggest challenge is when using the toilet, pamba pandinogara ndinopinda ndichibata pasi ne maoko apa vamwe vange vachimesa pasi.
“Sometimes the toilet will be messed up, with urine everywhere and I will be using my hands to move around.
“So, my health is at risk and it’s hard each time I travel, kombis overcharge me since my wheelchair occupies a large space.
“If God blesses me, I would love to have a Quad Bike which will make my life easier.”
The singer said he has over 230 songs which are yet to be recorded.
“I hope one day, I will achieve my goals.
“I have over 230 unrecorded songs and I only managed to record 14 along with seven videos.
“One of my songs, ‘Baba Chipo Makadipa’ was recorded at Chillspot Records.”
