A MAN from Makokoba suburb in Bulawayo has appeared in court for allegedly assaulting his wife and mother-in-law.

Feremenga Ngulube (41) appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Franklin Mkhwananzi who remanded him out of custody to April 24 for trial commencement. The court heard that Ngulube assaulted his wife Ms Sandra Mhlanga (42) following a misunderstanding after he found her talking to his male friends.

Prosecuting, Mr Mufaro Mageza said on April 5 this year at around 7.30PM, Ngulube allegedly slapped his wife and dragged her on the ground by her legs.

“Ms Mhlanga later escaped and went to her parents’ house where she narrated what had happened. Her mother together with her two brothers left her and went to Ngulube’s house,” said Mr Mageza. “Ngulube ran towards his mother-in-law and kicked her three times on the legs. When the brothers who were walking behind realised that their mother had fallen to the ground they chased Ngulube but he outpaced them”.—@gwizi_n.
