Man breaks neighbour’s wrist in assault over missing money

A 25-YEAR-OLD man from Makwika Village in Hwange has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for assaulting his neighbour, Mr Njabulo Mahlangu, aged 38.

The incident occurred on 9 February 2025, after Leviticus Sichoni suspected Mr Mahlangu of stealing money from his phone pouch.

In a fit of rage, Sichoni attacked Mahlangu with a stick, leaving him with serious injuries.

According to a statement by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on X, Mahlangu sustained a fractured left wrist and a cut on his left eyebrow.

He was treated at St. Patrick’s Hospital.

Sichoni was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
