A woman told Harare Civil Court magistrate Meenal Naratom that her husband attacked her with a knife after she caught him cheating with their domestic worker.
Caroline was seeking a protection order against her husband Lovemore Majoko for harassing and assaulting her.
She claimed that she discovered Lovemore’s affair with their house helper last weekend, leading to a confrontation that resulted in her being attacked.
“On Sunday I found out that my husband was having an affair with our house helper.
“When l confronted him, he attacked me with a knife.
“I managed to escape but ended up stabbing my car tyres.”
Caroline also accused Lovemore of threatening her co-workers to gather information about her whereabouts.
“He is in the habit of threatening my co-workers to get information about my whereabouts.”
In response Lovemore denied the allegations, claiming Caroline was lying and twisting the story.
“My wife is lying and she has twisted the story, she is the one who has been having extramarital affairs since July.
“I have been loyal to my wife for 11 years, I never assaulted or Insulted her.” Despite Lovemore denying the allegations, the court granted Caroline a protection order.
