Man commits suicide in Pumula South

A 36-YEAR-OLD man from Pumula South suburb in Bulawayo committed suicide by hanging on a tree in a bushy area on Sunday near a secondary school.

The deceased, Claudious Murambiwa hanged himself after informing his friends that he was a failure and wanted to kill himself.

Circumstances are that on 29 June 2024, the now deceased met up with his friends at the gate of his place of residence and told them that he wanted to kill himself because he had failed in life. His friends took his threat lightly as he was drunk.

The next day, his friends were informed that he had committed suicide after passers-by found him hanging in a bush. Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.

“The police received a case of a man who committed suicide and we appeal to the public to help people facing mental health challenges and to take them seriously when they are threatening to commit suicide,” said Inspector Ncube.
