A GLEN VIEW man died after being struck on the head with a pot by his wife following a row over infidelity in  their bedroom.

Nixon Jemedze (50), of House number 10852 Glen View 7, Harare, succumbed to severe injuries that were inflicted by his wife Sandra Ndoyiwa (31).

Harare police spokesperson,  Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed this incident.

Nixon’s younger brother, Solomon Jemedze (43), reported the case to the police, resulting in the subsequent arrest of Sandra.

Insp Chakanza said:

“On the 7th of this month, at around 3 am, Sandra Ndoyiwa (31) had a misunderstanding with her husband Nixon over infidelity issues, which resulted in her picking a small black Kango pot and striking him on the forehead and occiput (back of the head) once each side and he sustained deep cuts,” he said.

He said Nixon was rushed to Chamas Private Hospital in Glen Norah where he was admitted.

He died the following day.

A report was made at ZRP Glen Norah where the accused is currently detained.

“As police, we urge community members to abstain from violence because it always carries negative consequences.

“In this case, a family has lost a father and the mother is incarcerated hence the children would be left alone with no one who can take care of them,” said Insp Chakanza.

Nixon is expected to be buried today at his rural home in Chiweshe.
