A BULAWAYO woman told a court that her   estranged husband disowned their physically-challenged son. Susan Chitiyo told magistrate Vimbai Mtukwa that David Ushe had abandoned her and their disabled child.“Your worship, this man left me last year saying it was not possible that he had fathered a disabled child. Right now, I’m struggling with the child alone.

“I need $150 for the upkeep of the child and for his medication,” said Chitiyo.

Ushe told the court that Chitiyo was not telling the truth as he was supporting his family.

“She is not telling the truth. I always give her money. I know that the child is not okay and needs medication. Last time I told the magistrate that I have other responsibilities and two other minor children. Here are their birth certificates,” he said.

Mtukwa told them to appear before the magistrate who granted them maintenance.

“I order you to appear before the magistrate who granted you the maintenance and you must bring back these birth certificates,” she said.
