Man fatally assaults rival suitor

A HARARE man has been charged with murder after allegedly fatally assaulting a rival suitor.

Kenneth Kundai Madzisoaguta (32) appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Ruth Moyo yesterday facing charges of murder.

He was remanded in custody to February 10 and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

According to the State, the incident occurred in October 2025 when the victim, whose name has not been disclosed, encountered Madzisoaguta at the home of his girlfriend.

A heated argument ensued between the two men, leading to the alleged assault.

Madzisoaguta reportedly struck the victim with an unidentified object, after which he took the man’s cellphone and identification documents.

The victim managed to escape and return to his residence, but his health condition deteriorated rapidly.

He was later admitted to Blue Waters Private Clinic, where he succumbed to injuries sustained during the assault.

A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death to be severe brain edema, subdural haemorrhage, and severe head trauma.
