Man fatally stabbed in cellphone dispute

A 30-YEAR-OLD man from Nkayi under Chief Nkalakatha in Matabeleland North Province was arrested for allegedly killing another man of the same age following a dispute over stolen cellphone.
In a statement on X, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the incident happened on 2 august 2024 at Zinyangeni Business Centre.
“Police in Nkayi have arrested Siphililenkosi Ngwenya (30) in connection with a case of murder which happened at Zinyangeni Business Centre on 2 August 2024 in which Nkosilamandla Ngwenya (30) died.
“The suspect stabbed the victim with an okapi once on the stomach after an argument over a stolen cell phone,” the statement reads in part.
Comm Nyathi said Nkosilamandla’s lifeless body was found lying in a disused building.
