Man fatally stabs lover’s stalker

girlfriend.
Police confirmed the arrest of Shackmore Mahachi (20) who is in custody as investigations into the case continue.
He will appear in court soon.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati said the incident occurred on May 13 at around 10pm.
He said the late Phillip Chitima (23) and his friend Abraham Bhongo (19) were on their way home from a beer drink when Mahachi and his friend Bernard Majabvu followed them.
Mahachi and Majabvu passed the two and stopped at a distance.
When Chitima and his friend got to where the two were standing, Mahachi confronted the former over why he was stalking his girlfrie-nd.
But Chitima, according to the police, told Mahachi that he had no intentions to do that and was not stalking his girlfriend.
However, Mahachi did not accept Chitima’s explanation.
He grabbed him by the collar and drew out a knife, which then allegedly used to stab him twice at the back.
Bhongo reportedly tried to stop Mahachi from further stabbing Chitima but he was also stabbed on the right arm.
Bhongo immediately called for help from villagers who came to the scene, but Mahachi had already disappeared.
Chitima was taken to Mt Darwin Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Mount Darwin police tracked down Mahachi and arrested him.
