A Harare man gives his family $20 for groceries for the whole month, claiming that a church where his wife goes to should pay for their upkeep. This came out at the Harare Civil Court where Job Muduku was brought by his wife Tariro Nhakwi on Wednesday seeking $200 for the upkeep of the couple’s five minor children. Muduku did not deny ditching responsibility and even told the court that he was not that much worried since his wife could always facilitate for aid from her church.

“Your Worship, I am not employed and I cannot afford to commit as much as $200 for my family. My wife is the one who is responsible for facilitating aid from her church. At the moment, we are getting everything from the church including food and school fees for our five children. Maybe I can offer $20 to supplement our food,” he said.
