Man in court for US$47 000 fraud

As part of bail conditions, Verenga was ordered to surrender his passport and report twice a week at CID Fraud.
He was also ordered not to interfere with witnesses. Verenga will be back in court on July 31.
The complainant in the matter is Delta Beverages, represented by Godwin Tambawoga, a security manager.

Prosecutor Mr David Magwegwe alleged that during the period from July 24 last year to March 24 this year and at Delta Beverages customer collection depot, Verenga on 14 occasions made a misrepresentation into the system by posting fictitious figures to idle codes of beer packs.

The figures he posted were equivalent to the products which would have been stolen.
It is further alleged that the idle codes were no longer used and were suppressed in the system.

Delta suffered an actual prejudice of US$47 924,13 as a result of the fraud.
