Man jailed for possessing dagga valued at US$3 480

A 49 –YEAR-OLD man from Magunje in Mashonaland West Province was jailed for 6 years for dealing in dangerous drugs.
Authorities acted on a tip-off and searched Tasiyana Zingore’s residence, recovering 13.25 kg of dagga worth US$3 480 from two sacks in his bedroom.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said on 14 August police detectives received information to the effect that Zingore was in possession of dagga at his homestead.
“Acting on the information, they proceeded to the accused person’s homestead and they found him sleeping in his bedroom. A search was conducted and two sacks containing loose dagga weighing 13, 25 kg were recovered. The dagga was valued at US$3 480.”
“Zingore was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment,” said the NPAZ
