A 70-YEAR-OLD man from Buhera was jailed 10 years for raping a 7 year old girl.
Aaron Njuko came across the complainant, unaccompanied while herding cattle, and invited her closer.
Njuko dragged the victim to a secluded spot and raped her. The victim’s sister discovered the assault and reported it to the police, leading to the accused’s arrest.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said Aron Njuko and the 7 year old girl live in the same village. On 26 June Aaron Njuko saw the complainant who was alone herding cattle and called her.
He dragged her into a secluded place where he raped her. Njuko was caught in the act by the complainant’s sister who was looking for the complainant. A police report was made, leading to his arrest.
