Man killed for demanding change after buying a plate of Sadza

Midlands Bureau

A 22-year-old Zvishavane man died yesterday after he was stabbed with an unknown object following a dispute over US$9 change.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Insp Emmanue Mahoko said the now deceased Ellias Makamu bought a plate of Sadza from the suspect for US$1 and used a US$10 note but did not get his change.

“Upon inquiring about his change an argument arose between the two and the suspect, Coleen Takawira stabbed Makamu with a sharp object and he fell to the ground.

He bled profusely and was pronounced dead upon admission in hospital,” he said.

Insp Mahoko said police have now launched a manhunt for the suspect who is still at large.
