Man killed in fight at night club

A MAN from Mkoba 16 suburb in Gweru died upon admission to Gweru Provincial Hospital after he was found lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the right knee near Bvudzijena Night Club last weekend.

Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident which occurred on Saturday around 1:45 am.

“I confirm that a man from Mkoba 16 suburb, Bothwell Sibanda (28) died on admission to Gweru Provincial Hospital on Saturday,” he said.

Insp Mahoko said Sibanda had had an altercation with two unidentified men in the club, who are still at large, before meeting his demise.

“Circumstances are that Sibanda had an altercation with Terry and Cephas in the club and he decided to go home. The duo allegedly followed him shortly and Sibanda was later found lying in a pool of blood outside the club,” he said.

Insp Mahoko said Sibanda was found lying a few meters from the club around 1: 45am.

“Sibanda was rushed to Gweru Provincial Hospital where he died upon admission. A deep cut was discovered on his right knee,” he said.
