WHILE the name Mazinywensimbi is not yet a household one in the Rhumba genre, that could all change when the artiste launches his second album in Bulawayo with a star-studded line up on September 26.
Born Teenager Moyo in Nata village Tsholotsho , Mazinywensimbi said he ventured into music by chance during the Covid-19 era.
“I started music in 2020 during the lockdown. I needed to find something to do during the lockdown and as a strong fan of Rhumba music, I would sing along to most songs.I started as a fan and when I tried the mic, I fell in love with music and started off there,” he said.
Since then he has released one album, Women Abuse and two singles, but he wants to up the tempo with a new album being recorded at TK Studios.
Mazinywensimbi says the second album entitled Imali Isedotini encourages men to work hard if they are to be successful in life.
The six track album will be launched at a popular joint in Matshobana suburb.
“The launch will feature Sungura ace Mark Ngwazi all the way from the capital city, Godolode, Willpower and imbube group Great Stars – Injongosi. There is also a chance for fans to see on stage, Ngwabi and Tshongogwe
Masters and Dudlie Dube on stage if current talks are successful,” he said.
Mazinywesnimbi says the fans will be treated to some special moments during the launch.
While based in South Africa, the artiste is investing back home having set up a motor spares shops in Kelvin.
“I am based in South Africa but I want to build a fan base back home hence why I brought the launch here. There are many opportunities in the music industry and business that we can tap into as well. My plea is for fans to come out in numbers and enjoy a night of great music performances,” he said.
