A MAN is alleged to have killed his girlfiend and kept her body for two days.
Bothwell Nkomo (28), of Victoria Falls, has since been arrested and appeared in court facing murder charges. He is alleged to have killed his girlfriend Amanda Dube.
The State said that on March 18, the two had an argument. He then allegedly strangled her to death using a shoelace.
Nkomo did not report the matter to the police and, instead, he kept the body in his room for two days.
A witness found the body when she went to Nkomo’s place in search of Amanda.
She reported the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of Nkomo and Amanda’s body was found to be in a state of decomposition.
Nkomo was remanded in custody to April 4.
Meanwhile, a 31-year old man from Karoi was sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping a Grade 7 pupil and impregnating her.
The man manipulated the complainant into having unprotected sex with him in a soya bean field and offered her US$1.
He then raped her several times.
The matter came to light when the complainant’s mother suspected thather daughter was pregnant.
The pregnancy was confirmed at a local clinic.
