A LOCAL bank employee lost his Toyota Runx while relieving himself on Sunday.

Ashley Tinashe Mutambarika, 29, of Southlea Park, parked his silver Toyota Runx (AEH 2555) along a road behind Candy Shops.

He left the engine running while he was urinating.

An unidentified person entered his car and drove the vehicle away.

Tinashe tried to chase the car thief but he sped off.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident.

He said Tinashe also lost two Cellphones (a Samsung A33 and Tecno spark core) in the car.

“Police are investigating a car theft case in Southley Park,” said Insp Chakanza.

“The vehicle and valuables lost amounted to US$4900,” he said.

Insp Chakanza also confirmed that Rufaro Kasirori, 27, of Zimre Park lost a laptop HP core i5, and two phone chargers, from her vehicle.

Rufaro had parked it at the corner of Herbert Chitepo Street and Simon Muzenda Street to attend a church service.

On his return, he found that someone had used an unknown object to smash and break the rear right quarter glass and gain entry.
