A CHITUNGWIZA man lost US$5 600 in a fake cabin house deal.

Ponai Matsenyengwa (46) was allegedly deceived by Tariro Ndoro, who claimed to have a timber cabin supply company.

The two met in Greendale, where Ponai paid a deposit of US$3 900 in October last year.

He later paid the remaining balance of US$1 700 on January 29.

Tariro allegedly constructed the timber cabin, but did not hand it over to Ponai. Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed that police are investigating the case.
