A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been granted $50 000 bail in a matter he is being accused of corruptly concealing a transaction from a principal, and theft of trust property, worth US$13 000.
Harare Magistrate Dennis Mangosi ordered Wayne Dehwe to return to court on December 1.
Allegations are that on July 5, Wise Owl Group of Schools placed an order of T-shirts, at Navidale Textiles, where Dehwe was the sales manager.
It is alleged that by advising the company about the order, Dehwe received US$4 000 from Wise Owl Group of Schools, and then processed the order elsewhere.
It is also alleged that on July 19, Wise Owl Group of Schools made a follow-up on their order with Navidale Textiles, but were told that no order was in the receipt book.
The company analysed its records and discovered that on February 16, Samuel Centenary Academy was invoiced US$14 700, for an order of 300 navy v-neck pullover single knit with a logo.
The order also included 150 navy sleeveless jerseys with a logo, 200 branded round neck yellow T-shirts, 150 lunch bags, 150 sports bags, 150 satchels and 150 laundry bags.
The order was supplied on February 16 and 21 and Dehwe was paid a total of US$14 700.
But, he only handed in US$7 480 and converted US$7 220 to his own use.
It was also discovered that on May 9, Wise Owl Group of Schools was invoiced US$1 600 for an order of 200 chocolate brown scarfs and 200 chocolate brown beanie hats with a logo.
On May 16, the school was invoiced US$5 572 for 345 brown pullover jerseys and 13 brown scarfs.
On June 27 an invoice of US$800 was also issued for 200 chocolate brown hats.
Dehwe collected US$7 000 and only handed in US$4 000 to the company.
He converted US$3 000 to his own use.
