A HARARE woman has been granted a protection order against her ex-husband who has been threatening to shoot her dead.

Tendai Mashiri was granted the protection order against her ex-husband, Simbarashe Chinoda, by magistrate Tamara Chidindi yesterday.

Tendai told the court that Simbarashe was in the habit of insulting and harassing her.

“He chased me out of our matrimonial home and now follows me where l stay, threatening me and my relatives.

“He claims he purchased a gun and wants to shoot me with it,” said Tendai.

However, Simbarashe scoffed at Tendai’s submissions, saying she was misleading the court.

“She eloped with another man, who is my co-worker, with everything, including the maid.

“She even stole US$800 the day she left.

“She has blocked me and I don’t even know where they stay.

“The maid is the one who called and told me everything.
