A CHITUNGWIZA man is on the run for cashing on a non-existant residential stand to a desperate Mbare homeseeker.

Robert Madzokere duped Itai Murape, 39, of Mbare, about US$2000 promising a fake residential stand.

Acting Harare provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Webster Dzvova, confirmed the case urging people to engage the municipalities for residential stands.

“Police are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect facing fraud charges,” said Ass-Insp Dzvova.

“Circumstances were that  the accused person sold a non-existing residential stand in Phase 3 Nyatsime to the complainant.

“The accused was given US$2 000 and failed to give the complainant his service,” he said.

In a related case of fraud, another suspect, only identified as Marovanyanga of Savanhu Village in Mayambara, Seke, is being sought for selling one residential stand to two people.

Marovanyanga was reported to have received US$6270 from his victims, who include Brighton Nyakukwa, 32
