Skipper Aaron Dzangai has been a key figure in their fine run with his experience in the team’s defence and midfield Dzangai, who was shortlisted to join the club’s senior side, said he feels they still have a long way to go for them to entertain any hopes of talking about winning the championship.
“We just need to stay focused in every game that we play, which is what has got us where we are at this point of the season.
“I never imagined such a start to the season and what we are doing is something really special as it gives credit to the work that our coach Kadurira has been putting in and everyone knows that we always compete for a top four slot and the championship is not our concern,” said Dzangai.
He revealed they were benefiting from their coach’s advice for them to express themselves on the field.
“The coach has given us the freedom to express ourselves and also our ability to control the game and possession has developed well over the past games.
“Our coach is giving a helping hand to each and everyone to sharpen his skill and we have also developed a good relationship with him which makes it easier for us to comprehend his message.
“We are going to continue what we have been doing and in football you never know but I don’t think it’s necessary for us to make noise about winning the championship especially at this stage,” said Dzangai.
Banket United got their second point of the season after settling for a 0-0 draw at Kuwadzana against Chegutu Pirates.
Karoi United finally registered their first win after beating Come Again at Chikangwe.
Golden Eagles returned to winning ways after getting the better of Trojan Stars in a 1-0 win on the road. Harare City now sits second on the standings after edging PAM FC 2-1.
