Man rapes friend’s sister, court told

was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Mr Lazini Ncube and was remanded to November 14 on US$50 bail.
It was the State’s case that on October 1 this year, at around noon, a 22-year-old woman was at her brother’s house when Sindura arrived intending to leave his keys.

Sindura said he had been invited for a drink in Seke and asked the woman to sleep at his place. He came back around 4pm, gave his keys to the woman and US$20 to pay a debt owed to her sister-in-law.
Sindura returned at around 8pm and invited the woman out for a beer drink and she refused.

The woman later went to Sindura’s place to confirm whether he was still travelling to Seke.
She found Sindura asleep and she asked him to accompany her home.

Sindura allegedly refused, forcing the woman to sleep at his place.
He allegedly sneaked into the room she was sleeping in and raped her once.
She reported the matter to her brother’s landlord who reported the matter to the police.
