The families had defied a National Lands Inspectorate directive, issued by Deputy Police Commissioner General Godwin Matanga, to move off the land.
Hundreds of families have over the past two months been occupying conservancies in the Lowveld such as Bubyana, Save Valley and Devuli Ranch.
This raised fears that there could be a surge in poaching in the conservancies.
Masvingo provincial administrator, Mr Felix Chikovo, on Thursday said the land invaders in Chiredzi faced eviction from the properties.
“The National Lands Inspectorate ordered that the families who invaded conservancies in the Lowveld and continue to invade the properties up to now, be evicted from the properties,” he said.
“Police have since been informed and they will soon start the evictions of the invaders.”
Mr Chikovo said Government no longer tolerated illegal occupation of farms.
He said those in need of land had to apply for land through land committees that cascade from provincial level to district levels.
“The message that we want to send is that we no longer tolerate any illegal occupation of land by anyone,” said Mr Chikovo.
“That era has since passed.
“All those in need of land should formally apply for land.”
The invasion of conservancies had precipitated an upsurge in poaching activities, raising fears that some of the game species might actually be wiped out.
