A 26-year-old man from Mazowe has been sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment for raping his seven-year-old stepdaughter.
Three years were suspended on condition of good behaviour, leaving him to serve 17 years.
The State said sometime in July last year, the man ordered his stepdaughter to climb onto the bed and join him to watch a movie on his mobile phone.
He then raped the girl and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the assault.
The girl’s mother noticed that she was having difficulty walking and she narrated her ordeal.
She laid a rape charge against her husband.
