A Harare man escaped death by a whisker after his ex-wife pulled his manhood, tearing his scrotum as he tried to restrain the woman from assaulting his new wife, the Civil Court heard.
Patrick Zuze claimed he suffered a 10cm tear on his scrotum from the brawl.
Zuze was seeking a protection order against Mary Mwale,
whom he was accusing of breaching his peace.
“She once came to my house breaking windows demanding to see my current wife and when I opened the door she started attacking her.
“I intervened in a bid to quell the situation that is when she pulled my private parts and tore my scrotum only to be saved by neighbours who rushed me to hospital,” he said.
Zuze told magistrate Mr Trevor Nyatsanza that he is lucky to be alive.
“I suffered a 10cm tear on my scrotum which took a total of 18 stitches in different procedures to correct,” said Zuze.
Zuze claimed Mwale was in the habit of coming to his house insulting his wife and threatening to commit suicide.
“I want this court to grant my order because I am now living in fear after what she did to me.
“To make matters worse she is also threatening to kill my wife,” Zuze said.
Mwale did not show up at the court.
Mr Nyatsanza granted the order in default which barred Mwale from physically or verbally abusing Zuze.
He also ordered Mwale to keep peace towards Zuze at all times.
