Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the boy was walking with a relative  from Gokwe Light industries heading to the town centre when he spotted his father’s Nissan Caravan Commuter omnibus headed towards them.

“The boy, identified as Prince rushed towards his father’s vehicle and in the process he was hit and died on the spot,” he said.
The matter was reported to the police.

“On the fateful day the driver of the lorry, Lumuno Munsaka was driving from Siabuwa towards Gokwe town when he was stopped by an unidentified woman who asked for a lift,” he said.
