BOB Riyete Mavende, the founder of Forest Founders, is seeking assistance to raise US$1 800 to secure his participation at the Best Diplomats event in New York in March next year.
Forest Founders is an organisation that plants trees as a way of mitigating the effects of climate change.
Best Diplomats is a United Nations simulation organisation that enables young leaders and change makers to exchange ideas and resolve global issues.
Bob was randomly selected to represent the country at this event, but his organisation does not have the funds to send him to the Big Apple.
He is seeking help from individuals and corporates to cover the cost of confirming his participation by Sunday.
Bob believes this opportunity will allow him to meet different young leaders, represent his country, address various environment-related challenges, and promote tourism.
“This is a self-funded event which I applied for last week and it was confirmed that I will represent the country at the conference.
“I am kindly seeking help from any willing individuals or corporates.
“Any amount would go a long way, and individuals and corporates interested in donating may contact me on 0772 782 765.”
