A man from Victoria Falls in Matabeleland North province has been brought before the court after he reportedly stole uniforms meant for a primary school.

The man, Allan Sibanda, a Parks and Wildlife Authority employee, is facing charges of theft of trust property and the Victoria Falls Magistrates’ Court has set a trial date for May 19.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Sibanda allegedly converted uniforms valued at US$291.53, meant for a function at Breakfast Primary School.

“The missing items include one pair of black combat shoes, four long-sleeved jungle green shirts, four webbing belts, and six jungle green trousers.

The uniforms were handed over to Sibanda for safekeeping by Prosper Muleya of the Parks and Wildlife Authority,” said the NPAZ.

According to the statement, an inventory check revealed discrepancies, leading to investigations that resulted in the recovery of one jungle green shirt valued at US$18 from Sibanda’s residence.
