TWO unknown assailants allegedly brutalised a 31-year-old man from Chipinge, before stealing his Lifan motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred in Chinyamukwakwa village, under Chief Garahwa, on May 6, 2025 around 1pm.
Manicaland police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said Joseph Khahlamba was riding his unregistered bike from Mucheche towards Matikwa Business Centre, when two unidentified assailants approached him.
“As Khahlamba approached Matikwa Business Centre, two unknown men armed with machetes approached him, threatening him to hand over the motorcycle. When Khahlamba resisted, he was struck twice on the head with a machete. The two assailants then stole the bike and fled the scene,” he said.
Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka added that a passer-by, Sabia Murenje (47), assisted the injured Khahlamba and accompanied him to St Peters Hospital before reporting the incident to the police.
ZRP Chisumbanje attended the scene, and no arrest or recoveries have been made.

Khahlamba sustained head injuries, and is currently admitted at St Peter Hospital. The stolen bike is worth US$1000.
