Man suspects affair, stabs co-tenant

A DOMESTIC dispute turned violent in Mbare, Harare, after a man allegedly stabbed his co-tenant in the stomach for going out with his wife.

Tatenda Mazambani (26) appeared before Harare magistrate Mrs Jesse Kufa, facing charges of attempted murder.

He was remanded in custody until March 16.

The complainant, Alex Ngandu (23), resides at the same address as Mazambani at Matapi Flats, Mbare.

Though the two are not related, they share the same residence.

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on February 21, 2026, at around 7am at Block 12, Matapi Flats.

Ngandu reportedly went out with Mazambani’s wife, an action that enraged Mazambani.

Upon learning of the outing, Mazambani confronted Ngandu, demanding an explanation.

A heated argument ensued, during which Mazambani allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Ngandu once in the stomach.

Ngandu sustained a deep cut and was rushed to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for medical treatment.

The incident was reported to ZRP Matapi, leading to Mazambani’s arrest.
