Man U sign Depay

LONDON. — Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Dutch international forward Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven, the English Premier League giants announced yesterday.“#mufc has reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven and Memphis Depay for the player’s transfer, subject to a medical,” United announced on their official Twitter account.

“Pending the successful completion of the medical, the deal will go through once the transfer window opens in June.”

Depay, who has scored 49 goals in 122 appearances for PSV, will reportedly cost United around £22 million. United did not disclose the length of his contract.

The 21-year-old played under United manager Louis van Gaal at last year’s World Cup in Brazil, scoring two goals as Holland reached the semi-finals. British media said the deal, subject to the 21-year-old passing a medical, was around 30 million euros.

“We are very proud of this upcoming transfer,” PSV technical manager Marcel Brands told the PSV website (www.psv.nl).

“Memphis has gone through all the teams of the PSV youth academy and has played an important part in the national title this year. — AFP.
