LONDON. — Manchester United have agreed a fee with Benfica for central defender Victor Lindelof. The Portuguese club have confirmed United will pay £30.7m to sign the Sweden international, with a further £8.8m (€10m) payable based on performance incentives. Lindelof is yet to agree personal terms, with his proposed move to Old Trafford also subject to a medical and international clearance. A United statement read: “Manchester United is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with Benfica for the transfer of Victor Lindelof, subject to a medical examination, international clearance and personal terms.

“A further announcement will be made once the transfer is complete.”

Sky Sports News revealed in May that Jose Mourinho was planning on signing a central defender this summer and had identified Lindelof, Michael Keane and Virgil van Dijk as his three main targets. — Sky Sports.
