A 58-year-old man was arraigned in court for stealing property worth more than $14 million.
Lamusi Nthula was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi on Friday.
He was remanded in custody to today for his bail application.
Allegations are that between May 2020 and December last year, Nthula broke into several houses and stole various stuff.
The State said on May 25, 2020, Nthula used a pliers to cut razor wire and scaled the precast wall of a house in Mabelreign.
He forced open the dinning window and stole a 42-inch television, and phoned his accomplice, Richard Tsapi, who is on the run, to help him transport the loot.
On the same night he went to another house in Sherwood Drive and stole a 65-inch Samsung TV.
In July 2021, Nthula stole a 50-inch plasma TV and an HP laptop, and fled in Tsapi’s car.
Sometime in May last year, Nthula forced open the dining room window of a house in Avondale and stole sn Apple Mac Book laptop, 65-inch TV, US$3 000, a speaker, hair straightner, various clothes, shoes and jewelry.
Nthula also broke into a house in Bluffhill and stole some groceries, an upright Defy fridge, a TV and wheelbarrow.
When he was arrested, only property worthy $720 000 was recovered.
